Rafael Montano

Rafael received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in 2017 (Go Dawgs!). After graduation, he worked in a ministry in the Atlanta Area for about 3 years, but he always wanted to do something more worthwhile. After sitting down with college students and hearing about their lives, he felt a calling toward counseling. After lots of prayer and advice, Rafael and his wife decided to answer that calling in 2021, and they moved to Orlando.

In May of 2023, Rafael received his Master of Arts in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. He strives to be present with his clients and to bring a non-judgmental relationship into the room. He wants to help you uncover what is hidden, so that you become the best version of you. Relationships are important for all of us and sometimes hurt in our past relationships carries on to our current ones. Rafael takes a bio/psycho/social/spiritual approach in order to have a bigger picture. He also uses emotionally focused, attachment-oriented, and person-centered approaches. However, he enjoys using tools from other modalities in order to help clients unpack their stories.

Rafael has experience working with:

  • Individuals, couples, and families

  • Anxiety, depression, stress, grief

  • Unwanted sexual thoughts, feelings, and behaviors

  • Spiritual trauma, racial trauma, and minority related trauma

  • Ministry and work-related burnout.

  • Relational issues

  • Foster Care burnout for couples and families

When outside of the office, Rafael spends his free time with his wife and dog. He loves working out, cooking, reading, watching movies, going to Disney, and watching the Georgia Bulldogs play on Saturdays!
