Katie Donohue, RMHCI

Katie says that through her story, the Lord has only grown her compassion for others and deepened her intimacy with Him. Because of her own lived experience, she has a heart for women currently struggling with or who have a history of depression, anxiety, suicidality, self-harm, abuse, neglect, miscarriage, and pregnancy after loss. It was through that healing that she felt called to spend time with you in the midst of your story and explore with you the impacts of trauma on our bodies, thought patterns, emotions, behaviors, and relationships, sharing with you the psychoeducation needed for greater self-awareness, knowledge, and wisdom in navigating your experience outside the counseling room.

She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Creative Writing, and from Palm Beach Atlantic University Orlando Campus with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Since 2017 she has done over 100 speaking engagements, locally, statewide, nationally, and internationally, speaking at events, conferences, and trainings sharing her story of recovery and educating communities about mental health, mental illness, suicide awareness, warning signs, and coping skills. She also volunteered as a mental health professional and teacher residing in the third world country of Sri Lanka, and after returning to the States worked in a hospital for those struggling with addiction and substance abuse.

Outside the counseling room she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and baby girl, creative writing, reading, singing, drawing, painting, sculpting, musical theater, and has been seen in improv comedy shows in Orlando, FL.
